Merchandiser

As a merchandiser at this largescale garment supplier, you will be the primary contact between internal departments, external customers and the overseas production offices. 

Reporting to the Account Manager you will be responsible for the proactive daily tracking of the critical path for several high street accounts including Primark, Matalan and Sweaty Betty from order confirmation to delivery and invoicing requiring a natural aptitude for detail and accuracy.

The ideal candidate will have at least 4 year’s merchandising experience for a fast-paced garment supplier.

Main Responsibilities

• Ensure the critical path is adhered to and customer orders are delivered on time, within margin and to the required quality standard.
• Maintain up to date critical paths (factory & customer).
• Ensure accurate updates and timely weekly maintenance of the internal order book on Excel with all customer orders and invoices.
• Update all customer and internal order systems as required, ensuring all data is accurate and fully updated.
• Chase customers for orders and all amendments in a timely manner without any impact to deliveries.
• Chase and finalise internal PO's for the factory, final invoices and any amendments in a timely manner without any impact to deliveries.
• Review customer PO reports/systems and ensure all customers order details and systems are accurate and match the agreed confirmations.
• Lead weekly critical path meetings with offshore offices in China and Turkey and coordinate the submission of all critical paths from local offices.
• Closely monitor the critical path together with the factory, working proactively to find solutions where needed to ensure minimum impact to the business in terms of cost and delays.
• Review and approve all packaging for bulk orders and communicate details to the factories via the overseas offices in a timely manner.
• Production sample submission and approvals to ensure shipments are on time.
• Working together with the wider teams to maintain and drive on-time delivery of confirmed orders ensuring any delays are clearly highlighted and reported with possible solutions.
• Learning any new customer systems, where required onboarding offshore team members to ensure the production process is moving forward.
• Assisting in the preparation of customer meetings and together with the Account Manager ensure all details are up to date on customer critical path's.
• Update internal teams on any issues and proactively work to preempt any order issues to ensure shipments are delivered on time.
• Maintain the sample database in the showroom.

Essential Skills:

• A fashion industry related degree or equivalent industry experience.
• A minimum of 4 years of merchandiser experience in a garment supplier managing customer and factory critical paths.
• Strong analytical and organisational skills.
• Excellent communication skills with effective cross-functional and offshore teamwork.
• A naturally methodical mindset with high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to work to tight deadlines where required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office including intermediate or advanced Excel ability and previous experience using ERP systems.
• Positive and enthusiastic team player, confident to interact at all levels.
• Ability to prioritize workload and multi-task across projects and tasks.
• Ability to take ownership and resolve issues with the support of the team, prioritizing where necessary.
• Proven problem-solving skills.
