This global organisation, with their headquarters based in the UK continues to have impressive year on year growth and are looking to recruit for a Quality Engineer to join their growing technical department.
The position will report to the Senior Product Quality Manager, the successful candidate will provide key support and assist the drive for improvement in product quality, while maintaining the drive to reduce costs, working closely with the Production QC, Product Development and Material Development teams.
Root cause and remedy issues within the manufacturing facilities, using root cause analysis tools (SD, Ishikawa, 5 Why's). Issues relating to suppliers will require full investigation.
Manufacturing Continuous Improvement
Assisting in projects to drive waste reduction, improve process or manufacturing efficiency, or cost reduction.
Provide technical expertise to project teams with regards to manufacturing techniques and design for manufacture.
New Supplier Approval
Assist in verification of new suppliers through external audits
Help to determine trial plans in order to prove out process capability
Demonstrated experience of Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)
Quality Policies and Procedures
Play an Integral part in ensuring an effective quality management system is adhered to from goods from Goods In to Despatch.
Review, develop and introduce key QA processes within the business where required.
Development of a Quality Culture
Help educate the workforce on their responsibility in relation to quality control and risk management through Failure Modes Effects Analysis (FMEA)
Develop and roll out effective training in relation to quality compliance
Develop and implement tools in order to raise awareness in relation to quality
New Product Introduction
Take an active role to ensure actions relative to your responsibilities within the development process are completed in a timely manner.
Ensure project plan updates are effectively communicated.
Completion of First Article Approval (FAA) documentation upon completion of first off production batches.
Working closely with Testing Team to ensure test plans are created and followed.
Auditing and approval of production documents, ensuring control and adherence within the manufacturing environment.
Promote a culture which ensures discipline of standards and expectations are followed and met at all times.
Product Marking & Traceability
To drive the adherence of all production and process specifications, ensuring accuracy and traceability are adhered to on all production orders throughout.
Responsibility for ensuring the process is adhered to.
Dealing with customers on all quality concerns, which may require global travel on short notice. This will include conducting investigations on non-conformance and recommending corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
Quality Verification and Documentation
Ensure adherence to standards is always achieved.
Compilation of visual standard documentation for required product groups and training to all production personnel.
Supporting Senior Product Quality Manager with compilation of quality control plans.
3-5 years of experience working within a relevant industry with a proven track record for manufacturing optimisation and process improvement.
University educated (with relevant degree) - proven job knowledge or relevant experience will also be considered for strong candidate
Knowledge and understanding of production monitoring and improvement techniques, within a similar industry.
Experience of working with Asian based production facilities, and aiding the drive to improve quality.
Highly organised and efficient attention to detail and time management
Ability to perform well without close supervision, and work in a fast paced and expanding business.
Process driven, being objective and pragmatic
Computer Skills - Microsoft 365, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook.
