Featured Production Coordinator - Luxury
As Senior Fabric Technologist you will be sourcing and developing new woven and jersey fabrics as part of a multi-functional team dedicated to the design, development and production of multi-product womenswear for several leading retailers. Customers include ASOS, Primark and F&F. Reporting to the Head of Fabric.
The successful individual will have around 5 years of supplier-based experience as a dedicated Fabric Developer or Fabric Technologist working with global mills across a wide range of woven, jersey and sustainable fabrics.

Main responsibilities
- Working hand-in-hand with the design team and fabric suppliers to sample or develop fabric.
- Market research; maintain awareness of the latest trends and fabrics.
- Ensure fabric sourcing and innovation is in line with strategy.
- Ensure fabric developments are cost-effective and available on time, working closely with the commercial team.
- Organise lab dips for all required colours and submit to customers for approval before distributing to relevant factories.
- Risk assess all new fabrics to ensure they are fit for purpose and meet testing parameters.
- Discuss and agree on solutions with suppliers if test results are sub-standard.
- Work with customers to agree on commercial approvals where necessary.
- Ensure all fibre composition testing is complete and appropriate care labels are issued.
- Liaise with the off-shore production teams to assist in the resolution of any bulk issues.
- Maintain all technical files ensuring they are kept up to date.
- Attend weekly critical path meetings and ensure all responsibilities are completed in line with the critical path.
Essential Skills
- Degree in Fashion Textiles or similar.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Fabric Technologist or Fabric Buyer within the fashion industry.
- Excellent sourcing, development and technical knowledge of women’s woven and jersey fabrics.
- Excellent colour vision.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Highly organised and experienced in prioritising work in line with the critical path.
- A confident, proactive approach capable of working effectively in a team under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to interact effectively with customers, suppliers and colleagues at all levels.
- Proficient computer skills including MS Office.
