Senior Wholesale Merchandiser

My client, a well established and successful fashion and lifestyle brand are currently looking for a Senior Wholesale Merchandiser.


To support the delivery of the sales and margin targets across all wholesale channels through detailed planning, trading and inventory management. In conjunction with the sales team, the Senior Merchandiser will identify and champion specific market needs and proactively bring proposed solutions to identified problems, challenges and opportunities.

Ensuring the range architecture meets business and market requirements and to control product demand planning, ensuring we plan for delivery to customer of the right product, on time and in full and with the optimal resource efficiency.

Accountabilities Summary:

  1. Supporting the annual budgeting, seasonal strategy and range planning process and ensure KPI`s are achievable and measurable

  2. Responsible for establishing, promoting and preserving our Range architecture during the development process

  3. Custodian of our Range architecture and providing range challenge based on forecast business requirements.

  4. Owning the Wholesale channel MSSI’s

  5. Driving the end to end selling in process through detailed analysis, range assortment and buy proposals

  6. Actively maximizing sales opportunities through detailed and timely analysis of the order book versus target and last year; highlighting areas of risk and turning missed opportunities into additional orders

  7. Support the selling in review process to ensure lessons learnt are captured and fed back in a constructive and measurable manner to the design team

  8. Ensuring all key account selections are reviewed with the account manager to support the accurate forecasting and buying of stock prior to orders being updated on the system.

  9. Driving the buying critical path to ensure all wholesale orders are reviewed and on the system in line with the buy submission dates

  10. Review sales orders versus purchase orders at the earliest possible date, highlighting risk and proposing solutions

  11. To be aware at all times of delivery status and ensure the sales teams are informed of any risk to the timely conversion of the order book

  12. In season drive the order book conversion through detailed trading meetings for all key accounts, ensuring sales are maximized and stock risk minimized

  13. Accurately forecast wholesale excess stock position and produce margin enhanced stock package deals where appropriate.

  14. To be the main point of contact between the sales team and the Design and production team

Education & Experience required:

  • Minimum 2-5 year's experience as a Wholesale Merchandiser / Planner.
  • Expertise in range planning

  • Expertise in demand planning and buying/purchasing

  • Expertise in stock or sales order management
