Account Manager - Menswear, Womenswear, Childrenswear, Babywear & Homeware

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Account Manager to join a highly successful supplier of menswear, womenswear, childrenswear, babywear and homeware, working with some of the UK's leading high street retailers.

In this customer-facing role, you'll be responsible for managing key retail accounts, building strong, long-term relationships and ensuring products are delivered seamlessly from initial brief through to final delivery. Working closely with customers' buying and design teams, you'll also collaborate internally with the Senior Account Manager, Managing Director and Design team to deliver commercially successful product ranges.

As this position involves regular face-to-face meetings with key customers, the role will primarily be based in the North East of England, with 1-2 days per week spent at the company's Hertfordshire office.

This role would suit someone with previous Account Management experience within a supplier or retail environment, or a retail Buying background looking to move into an account management position.

Main Responsibilities will include:

  • Manage and grow key customer accounts, developing strong, long-lasting relationships.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customers, delivering an exceptional level of service.
  • Work closely with the Senior Account Manager, Managing Director and Design team to translate customer briefs into successful product ranges.
  • Manage the product development process from concept through to delivery, ensuring deadlines and customer expectations are consistently met.
  • Attend regular customer meetings, presenting new product developments and range proposals where required.
  • Identify opportunities to expand existing accounts and support wider business growth initiatives.
  • Liaise with internal departments to ensure products are developed, sourced and delivered efficiently.
  • Monitor customer performance, market trends and competitor activity, sharing key insights with the wider business.
  • Maintain accurate account administration and ensure clear communication throughout the product lifecycle.

Person Specification:

  • Previous experience as an Account Manager within a supplier or retail environment.
  • A background in retail Buying would be highly advantageous.
  • Experience working with major UK high street retailers is desirable.
  • Excellent relationship-building, communication and presentation skills.
  • Commercially minded with strong negotiation and influencing abilities.
  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated, proactive and able to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
  • Flexible and willing to travel regularly to customer meetings.
