Junior Designer - Womenswear

Our client is looking to appoint an exceptionally organised, technically strong and product-focused Junior Designer / Designer to join their design team. This is a hands-on opportunity for a designer who combines strong creative understanding with outstanding technical expertise.

Based in London, you will be responsible for developing design concepts into accurate, detailed technical packs that can be clearly interpreted by offshore sample rooms, alongside creating high-quality digital presentations of products and ranges.

The successful candidate will have an excellent eye for detail, a strong understanding of garment construction and the ability to manage multiple styles and deadlines.

This role offers hybrid working.

Main Responsibilities Will Include:

• Communicate design concepts through exceptional CADs and digital/AI-assisted presentations.
• Translate design concepts into accurate and detailed technical drawings.
• Create comprehensive technical packs including specifications, measurements, construction details and product information.
• Work closely with Design and Product teams to ensure designs are creatively strong, technically achievable and commercially viable.
• Liaise with offshore teams and sample rooms, responding to technical queries and resolving development issues efficiently.
• Apply a strong understanding of garment construction, fit and manufacturing throughout the product development process.
• Manage multiple styles, projects and deadlines in a highly organised and efficient manner.
• Collaborate effectively with designers, product teams, manufacturers and offshore sample rooms throughout the development process.

Person Specification

• Proven experience within design or product development role, ideally within fashion/apparel.
• Experience across multiple product categories would be advantageous, particularly sleepwear, leisurewear, activewear, casual and formal jersey.
• Excellent Adobe Illustrator and CAD skills, with the ability to produce both creative presentations and highly accurate technical drawings.
• Strong understanding of garment construction and manufacturing processes.
• Proven ability to create clear, comprehensive and accurate technical packs.
• Confident communicating technical information with offshore teams, manufacturers and sample rooms.
• Experience using AI-assisted presentation or design tools is advantageous.
