Knitwear Designer - Ladies

We are working with a well-established, highly reputable fashion supplier looking for an experienced Knitwear Designer to join their creative team, working across Ladieswear with some exposure to Girlswear. This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially minded designer to take ownership of the design and development process, working closely with customers, internal teams and overseas factories to create trend-led, commercial knitwear collections.
Main Duties and responsibilities
* Manage sampling and Development of critical Path

• Research fashion trends, colour, and market direction to create relevant, commercial knitwear ranges.

* Creating mood boards, colour palettes and design concepts, taking designs from initial concept through to final sample.Regular liaison and meetings with Buyers to ensure briefs are met and adhered to

* Developing knitwear with a strong understanding of yarn, stitch, gauge, colour, shape and construction.
* Working closely with overseas factories and yarn mills throughout the development process, reviewing samples and making amendments where required.
* Working with internal teams and customers to ensure products meet the required quality, cost and critical path.

Person Specification
* Strong knitwear design and development experience with previous fashion supplier experience essential.
* Experience across Ladieswear and/or Girlswear knitwear.
* Strong CAD skills and a good understanding of knitwear construction.
* A commercial eye with the ability to translate trends into commercially successful product.
* AI design software knowledge would be beneficial but is not essential.
* Strong organisational and communication skills, with a proactive approach and the ability to work to deadlines.
