Our clients are a successful - well respected leading supplier of childrenswear and sportswear clothing . We are seeking a strong & assertive Merchandiser to support our buying team in delivering outstanding levels of stock availability and service.

The market is challenging & this requires an innovative, data driven approach to stock management and merchandise planning.
The Role
You will be responsible for leading their Sportswear merchandising managing the end-to-end critical path from order placement through to customer delivery.
Working closely with Buying, Operations, and Customer Services teams, you will ensure production schedules are maintained, delivery commitments are achieved, freight costs are optimised and service levels remain industry leading.
The successful candidate will combine strong commercial awareness with exceptional planning and organisational skills, balancing delivery deadlines, inventory investment and freight costs to achieve agreed OTIF and customer service targets.
Key Responsibilities
· Manage their Sportswear merchandising area and 1 Assistant Merchandiser.
· Placing purchase orders and maintaining delivery updates within their internal system.
· Attend weekly production meetings and update the business on any potential delivery issues.
· Maintain good working relationships with their suppliers and freight companies.
· Own and manage production schedules for both the UK critical paths and Internationally.
· Ensure you meet stock availability targets particularly during peak periods.
· Manage inbound freight planning and execution.
· Balance cost, speed and service requirements when selecting freight methods.
Essential
· Significant supply or retail merchandising experience.
· Strong understanding of supply chain management, production planning and inventory control.
· Experience with managing and developing junior members of the team.
· Strong analytical and commercial skills.
· Advanced Excel knowledge.
· Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Desirable
· Experience within Garment / clothing / textile industry
· Knowledge of international sourcing and freight management.
