Our clients are a successful well established textile business , now seeking an experienced Merchandising Manager to come on their next growth journey.
This role demands a highly organised and self-motivated Merchandising Manager professional who can support and manage the Merchandising team whilst liaising effectively with the Sales Team to manage existing customers, onboard new customers to companies ways of working and unique selling points in what is a demanding, customer led environment.
Using your excellent communication skills, you will build and maintain mutually beneficial profitable relationships, with our top accounts. You will be required to develop strong stakeholder relationships across multiple departments and at varying levels of seniority.
Together with the Head of Supply Chain you will have an active role in developing the strategic relationship with the key accounts, across all relevant product channels and drive the jointly agreed business plan ongoing, including appropriate strategies for each account which will support business growth targets.
You will be working with all areas of the business from Finance, Sales, Licencing to Purchasing, Compliance, Logistics and Designers; excellent interpersonal skills are essential to your success. You will have a working understanding of Microsoft office, customer portals and ERP systems.
The key responsibilities of this role include:
To manage and facilitate the daily operations of the Merchandising team, using data analysis to review a range of information and metrics and identify and prioritise appropriate actions.
Lead the Merchandising Team with strong commercial focus, maximising margin wherever possible.
Together with the business Sales and the Senior Management team, help to set the company strategy and goals for the future. Communicate and update progress and constantly use your initiative to look for learning points and opportunities to enhance the process.
Develop strong commercial and collaborative relationships with your peers across all levels of the business and implement new ideas and ways of working to deliver success.
Onboarding new customers – alongside the Sales team, marketing the full range of business supply models
Managing the Merchandising team to ensure that customer service excellence is delivered daily
Monthly one to one reviews and personal development/coaching and training plans with all direct reports to help them perform their positions more efficiently.
Annual performance reviews and objective setting with all direct reports
Fostering a continuous improvement culture to constantly improve procedures and ways of working along with the appropriate communication and documentation
Managing internal and external escalations and issues ensuring that root causes are identified, and corrective actions implemented
Pulsing the open order book to ensure that all live, firm orders are delivered in line with billing projections.
Work with the Sales Team to identify ways to maximise repeat order opportunities.
Monitoring KPIs for the Merchandising Team, driving for root cause analysis and continuous improvement activities – to include OTIF to customer request date and agreed delivery date.
Authorising credit note requests.
Together with the Head of Supply Chain drive activity on accounts where there are less orders, keeping in contact with the customer to ensure that relationships are maintained & products are promoted.
Key Experience
Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing large teams in a Merchandising or Supply Chain Role.
Working in a KPI driven environment.
Experience of implementation of IT Projects and managing offshore teams.
