THE PRODUCTION MANAGER is responsible for the successful planning, execution and continuous improvement of the company's global production operations, ensuring the delivery of world-class SAFETY protective clothing across multiple product categories. The role will build, develop and maintain strong relationships with manufacturing partners, suppliers and key stakeholders to drive operational performance, product quality and commercial success.
Manage the end-to-end manufacturing process across multiple product categories, international manufacturing partners and raw material supply chains
Build, develop and maintain strong relationships with manufacturing partners and suppliers to drive performance, quality and cost improvements.
Develop and manage product and production KPIs, including lead-time reduction initiatives, OTIF performance, cost price savings and margin improvements
Monitor forecast accuracy and collaborate with Supply Chain team to adjust production plans and capacity requirements as needed
Line management of Production Coordinator
Support Manufacturing Director in executing strategic manufacturing projects and quarterly sprints
Develop and maintain monthly, quarterly and annual performance reporting packs, providing actionable insights against key manufacturing metrics.
Oversee a smooth and seamless handover from product development through to OTIF deliveries of new SKUs, including planning and execution of bulk launches
Drive cross-functional collaboration across Supply Chain, Product Development, Quality and Operations teams
Support the evaluation, onboarding and performance management of new manufacturing and supply chain partners
Travel internationally to manufacturing and supply chain partners to strengthen relationships, conduct performance reviews and support strategic initiatives as required
Ensure product quality and standards are consistently upheld across the supply chain
Support annual budgeting and departmental cost re-forecasting requirements
Performance Objectives & KPI’s
Deliver agreed On Time In Full (OTIF) targets across all product categories.
Achieve annual product cost reduction and margin improvement targets through effective supplier and raw material negotiations.
Improve supplier lead times and manufacturing responsiveness
Maintain forecast accuracy and manufacturing capacity alignment
Successfully launch new product bulk productions within agreed critical path timelines
Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, accuracy and productivity within the production function.
Minimum 3 years managerial experience' in an apparel production, sourcing or production management role, with experience operating at a senior level
Proven experience managing international manufacturing partners and complex supply chains
Background in PPE, technical workwear or performance clothing would be beneficial
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
Proven experience in data tracking, reporting and target setting
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret production, forecasting and performance data to support decision-making
Excellent commercial acumen with demonstrable success in supplier negotiations and cost reduction initiatives
Proficiency in PLM systems and Microsoft Office, strong Excel skills required
Highly organised, proactive and solutions-focused, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Ability to travel to international manufacturing and supply chain partners as required
Detail-oriented and motivated to contribute to a brand with strong values and ambitious growth plan.
This is an amazing opportunity to join a truly remarkable business with a purpose for Protecting workers. We need someone living and working in the UK or with RTW. You must be able to travel to the site in South Yorkshire ideally 3 /4 times a week ,hybrid considered for the right candidate.
