Production Merchandiser

We are working with a highly successful fashion supplier who are looking to appoint a Production Merchandiser to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a business at the top of their game, supporting high-volume high street and supermarket accounts across womenswear, menswear and childrenswear.

This is a fast-paced and dynamic role suited to someone who thrives on organisation, clear communication and getting things right first time. You will take ownership of the critical path from order confirmation through to handover at port, keeping production on track, suppliers aligned and customers fully informed throughout the process. The role offers hybrid working, a supportive team structure and excellent scope for progression within a collaborative and high-performing environment.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing orders from handover at order confirmation through to delivery and handover at port, ensuring the critical path and live order book are kept fully up to date
  • Monitoring offshore factory production in China and Cambodia against agreed delivery schedules, while liaising with the Bangladesh merchandising team on a weekly basis to track progress and flag any risks early
  • Leading weekly critical path update meetings with Account Managers and the UK Technical team to ensure orders are progressing in line with plan
  • Ensuring all factory orders meet customer requirements, with accurate management of submissions including lab dips, bulk swatches, PP samples, press samples and production samples
  • Building strong relationships with customer buying and merchandising teams, managing expectations professionally and maintaining clear communication with all internal and external stakeholders
  • Reconciling goods ready to ship against original purchase orders, investigating shortages, overs, early or late shipment discrepancies and securing customer approval where needed
  • Challenging incorrect specifications confidently and working with the Account Manager to minimise risk to customer deliveries and provide solutions quickly
  • Negotiating and mitigating delays where possible, while identifying opportunities for the UK team to add value through strong service and consistency of communication

Person specification:

  • Previous experience within production merchandising or import merchandising, ideally across high-volume fashion accounts
  • Highly organised with excellent time management and the ability to manage a large volume of orders at pace
  • Strong attention to detail with a right-first-time approach
  • A confident communicator who can build strong relationships at all levels internally and externally
  • Calm under pressure, proactive in problem solving and able to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team

This is a great opportunity for a Production Merchandiser who enjoys pace, ownership and working across major retail accounts, and who is looking to join a fashion supplier with a strong reputation, supportive culture and real room to grow.
