Senior BI Developer

We're recruiting on behalf of a Group business behind a portfolio of well-known global brands, for a Senior BI Developer to take ownership of their enterprise Power BI environment and lead the organisation's approach to AI readiness and adoption.

This is a senior, high-impact role combining deep technical BI/data engineering expertise with strategic input into how the business scales AI across its operations.

It's a fantastic opportunity for an experienced BI professional looking to broaden into AI strategy and governance within a well-established, brand-led business.

Main Responsibilities Will Include:

• Owning and managing the end-to-end Power BI environment, including datasets, semantic models, gateways, dataflows and reporting infrastructure
• Designing and maintaining scalable Power BI data models supporting enterprise-wide reporting and analytics
• Managing ODBC connections and integrations between ERP systems, SQL Server and Power BI
• Writing, optimising and maintaining complex SQL queries, views, stored procedures and backend logic
• Owning the data modernisation roadmap, focusing on data quality, integration, lineage and master data foundations
• Designing and maintaining ETL processes, data transformation pipelines and validation procedures
• Developing and maintaining advanced DAX calculations, measures and performance optimisation strategies
• Assessing and improving enterprise AI readiness across data, architecture, governance and operating model
• Identifying, prioritising and building a business case for AI use cases across functions, including agents and automation
• Establishing governance frameworks for AI systems covering access, security, testing, documentation and auditability

Person Specification:

• Previous experience in Power BI, business intelligence, data engineering or data architecture roles
• Advanced SQL Server expertise, including query optimisation and performance tuning
• Strong experience managing ERP data structures, system integrations and enterprise data flows
• Proven experience building and managing semantic models and enterprise datasets in Power BI
• Strong knowledge of ETL processes, data modelling, data quality and master data management
• Advanced DAX development and optimisation experience
• Practical understanding of enterprise AI architectures, including generative AI, agentic systems and AI assistants
• Experience assessing organisational AI readiness and translating priorities into AI use cases and roadmaps
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills, with experience working with ERP systems and large datasets
• Excellent communicator with strong presentation skills and the ability to translate technical capability into business value
