Senior Designer - Womenswear Jersey

We are seeking a talented Senior Designer to join a friendly team for a successful and well-established fashion supplier.

Based in Leicester, this role is to design womenswear jersey and nightwear. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded and trend-driven designer who has a strong understanding of the womenswear market and can bring a fresh, contemporary approach to product development.

The ideal candidate will have a refined, modern handwriting, with the ability to create fashion-forward yet commercial collections across womenswear nightwear and jersey categories.

Main Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Designing and developing commercially successful womenswear collections across nightwear and jersey categories, with a focus on creating modern, trend-led product.
  • Researching and interpreting global fashion trends, identifying key colours, fabrics, silhouettes, and styling details relevant to the target customer.
  • Creating seasonal mood boards, trend presentations, CADs, and detailed technical packs to support product development.
  • Working closely with customers, product development teams, and overseas suppliers throughout the design process.
  • Presenting seasonal collections and new product ideas confidently to internal stakeholders and retail customers.
  • Sourcing fabrics, prints, graphics, and trims to support the development of elevated and contemporary ranges.
  • Supporting the product development process from initial concept through to sample approval and production sign-off.
  • Building strong relationships with customers and suppliers to ensure the successful execution of seasonal collections.

Person Specification:

  • Previous experience as a Designer or Senior Designer within womenswear, with a focus on nightwear, loungewear, jersey, or related categories.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating a modern, clean, and commercially relevant design aesthetic.
  • Excellent trend forecasting and market analysis skills, with a passion for contemporary womenswear.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • The ability to translate catwalk and market trends into commercially successful product ranges.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
