Senior Designer - Womenswear Tailoring

We are working with an established fashion supplier to recruit a Senior/ Head of  Womenswear Tailoring to design and lead commercial, trend-led ranges for well-known UK supermarkets and retailers.

We are looking for a fashion-forward Designer with at least 8-10 years' experience, who can interpret catwalk trends and translate them into contemporary, commercially relevant tailoring for different customers and price points. You will have a strong design handwriting and be confident presenting collections to buyers.

Main Responsibilities

• Leading the design and development of womenswear tailoring ranges.

   

• Interpreting catwalk trends and translating them into commercial product.

   

• Working across multiple customer accounts at any one time.

   

• Presenting collections and new concepts confidently to buyers.

   

• Working closely with customers, suppliers and factories.

   

• Travelling for competitor shopping trips and factory visits.

   

• Using Illustrator, Photoshop and AI design programmes.

   

Person Specification

• At least 8-10 years' fashion design experience, with a strong background in womenswear tailoring.

   

• Experience designing for UK retailers or fashion suppliers.

   

• A strong fashion eye with a contemporary, commercial approach.

   

• Excellent knowledge of fabrics, fit and garment construction.

   

• Very confident presenting to buyers.

   

• Strong skills in Illustrator, Photoshop and AI design programmes.

   

• Commercially minded, organised and able to manage multiple accounts and priorities simultaneously.

   

• Happy to travel for competitor shopping trips and factory visits.
