Senior Designer - Womenswear Wovens

We are seeking a talented Senior Womenswear Designer to join a friendly, successful and well-established fashion business.

This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded and trend-driven designer with a strong elevated womenswear wovens handwriting.

The role will focus on womenswear wovens, including dresses, blouses and soft separates. This role offers hybrid working ideally 2 days a week in the office minimum, there may be some flexibitlity depending on where you are based.

Main Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Designing and developing commercially successful, elevated womenswear woven collections across dresses, blouses, tops and soft separates.
  • Creating trend-led and contemporary product with a strong eye for silhouette, fit, fabric, print and detail.
  • Researching and interpreting global fashion trends, identifying key colours, fabrics, shapes and product opportunities relevant to the target customer.
  • Creating seasonal mood boards, trend presentations, CADs and detailed technical packs to support the product development process.
  • Bringing fresh ideas and a strong fashion perspective to the development of each seasonal collection.
  • Sourcing and developing fabrics, prints, trims and embellishments to create elevated and commercially relevant ranges.
  • Working closely with customers, product development teams and overseas suppliers throughout the design and development process.
  • Presenting seasonal collections, trend direction and new product ideas confidently to internal teams and retail customers.
  • Managing the product development process from initial concept through to sample approval and production.
  • Building strong relationships with customers and suppliers to ensure the successful execution and delivery of each collection.

Person Specification:

  • Previous experience as a Womenswear Designer or Senior Designer, with a strong background in wovens.
  • Experience designing across categories including dresses, blouses, tops and soft separates.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating an elevated, modern and fashion-forward womenswear handwriting.
  • Strong trend forecasting and market analysis skills, with a genuine passion for contemporary womenswear.
  • The ability to interpret catwalk, social and wider market trends and translate them into commercially successful product.
  • Experience sourcing and selecting fabrics and trims.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and relationship-building skills.
