Fabric Buyer-Luxury BRAND
This amazing luxury retailer was established almost a hundred years ago and is synonymous with style and elegance and currently dominating premium mens formalwear with their unique handwriting, instantly recognisable design and high quality fabrics.
They are looking for a fabric buyer to join their menswear department within their head office in an amazing location in Central London. Your main objective will be to ensuring timely support and management of the Fabric and Trim Development Cycle each Season.
You will currently be in this role and have at least two years experience as a fabric buyer, have excellent knowledge of fabrics as well as established relationships with suppliers and mills in the Far East and Europe.
The role will include
To maintain and develop relationships with all key suppliers.
Agree with suppliers appropriate lead-times and notify the business of any variations thereafter.
Work with capacity planning to generate, short, medium and long term fabric forecasts by quality.
Agree cost prices, payment terms and trading arrangements.
Liaise with fabric technical to ensure all suppliers meeting appropriate ethical, environmental and operational standards.
Handle all supplier claims.
Agree with mills fabric minimums and repeat order practice.
Find new fabric routes to lower buying in prices and to provide innovation and development opportunities.
Monitor purchase price variance and maintain a fabric and trim cost price database. Establish appropriate KPI's to monitor and report upon supplier performance.
Work with the purchasing and merchandising teams to optimise ordering volumes.
A methodical, determined and self reliant, 'can do' attitude to work. The ideal candidate will have recently been working in a similar position within the fashion & textiles related industries.
It is essential that you are a team player, have excellent communication and negotiation skills, be motivated and able to work well in a demanding, fast moving environment. Being PC literate including Outlook, Word and Excel is also required.
