LOGISTICS AND MERCHANDISING COORDINATOR


Fashion Edge Ltd is a fast growing Fashion Distributor (established over 15 years ago) supplying mainly branded footwear and fashion accessories to major high street stores and independent shops throughout the UK and Ireland. We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Merchandiser / Logistics coordinator to join the team. We are looking for a very flexible, organized and self-motivated candidate with excellent communication skills. You must have relevant experience in planning and managing an efficient logistics function and have excellent analytical, numerical and spreadsheet skills with a very commercial attitude. You should also have quick and accurate data entry skills and an ability to analyse data.

The role:

  • Setting up all styles in wholesale system SAP and tracking changes notified by brands/ feeding product data to warehouse system
  • Timely and accurate completion of purchasing administrative tasks ie upload barcode/prices
  • Update and maintain FOB/Wholesale/RRP price lists if there is any change 
  • Generating required purchase orders and placing such orders with supplier factories timely
  • Chasing supplier factories to confirm orders placed and following & updating any production notifications from them. This involves liaison with China, Mexico, Italy, Spain and Turkey etc. Any relevant language skills would be useful but not essential 
  • Responding to factories’ production queries on time and updating purchase orders and sales order if any changes in production ie. delay or cancellation
  • Monitor and ensure delivery schedules for key accounts are followed 
  • Arranging for the supply of labels to factories or warehouse where relevant
  • Instructing factories regards packing arrangements where necessary and ensuring instructions are understood and followed
  • Negotiate freight rates both sea and air
  • Arranging freight of goods in cost efficient way and consolidating shipments where feasible
  • Fluency with duty on importation and checking duty invoices 
  • Checking all production invoices with purchase orders
  • Producing required spreadsheets where necessary to inform warehouse of shipments arriving and contents
  • Booking delivery of shipments from port to warehouse at earliest opportunity
  • Chasing warehouse GRN of shipments arrived and update the GRN on SAP
  • Backup and support to the logistic team when required

Reporting:

  • Report to sales team and customers regards delivery dates for incoming shipments
  • Manage up to date stock list and inform sales on regular basis of spare stocks for sale 
  • Producing sell through reports and analysis of stock
  • Arrange booking in of delivery to distribution centre following all information requirements 
     

Skills Required

  • 3 years + relevant experience
  • Organised, accurate, detail oriented and good numerical skills
  • Flexible and able to work and adapt quickly
  • Able to work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • A strong and passionate team player
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Good IT skills and an excellent knowledge of Excel is required
  • Experience of SAP would be an advantage but not essential
