RETAIL ASSISTANT, READING
JACOBS - INDEPENDENT JEWELLERS
‘One of the best retail and service providers of fine jewellery and watches in the South-East of England’
RETAIL ASSISTANT, READING
Good basic salary + industry-recognised training and qualification opportunities
JACOBS THE JEWELLERS have been associated with Reading, Royal Berkshire, through several generations, and their commitment to serve their community is well recognised. Authorised to stock many fine brands, the team’s performance has won much commendation from their trade peers. Recent achievements have included winning UK Retail Jeweller of the Year, consistently featuring in the list of Britain’s Top 50 most inspiring independently-owned jewellers, and more locally being twice winners of the Reading Independent Retailer of the Year award.
Looking forward to the future, JACOBS are now keen to welcome an outstanding new RETAIL ASSISTANT to share the team’s collective industry and customer service passion.
Ideally, you will already have proved that retail customer service is an area to which your career is well suited. You appreciate the importance of store standards, both in respect of the presentation of merchandise, and your ability to deliver customer delight on the shop floor.
The trade discipline in which your skills have been developed is not the crucial issue – it may have been luxury/premium products, fashion apparel, or indeed food service/hospitality – what is vital is your appreciation of the importance of providing excellent service, your knowledge of your products, and your ability to sell, inspiring in your customers the confidence to keep coming back for more.
Retailing enables you to express your personality, underpinned at every moment by politeness, administrative efficiency and enthusiasm. Every day, as a driven, self-motivated retail sales professional, you will relish encountering new challenges, and your future colleagues, many of whom boast many happy years of company service, will support and encourage you to become an ever more effective team contributor.
You will be comfortable rising to the expectations that working with such a reputable retail jeweller entails, prepared to go the extra mile to maintain and even enhance the reputation of our client, and respecting the traditions that the store embodies, both locally and on the wider trade landscape.
Everybody here at Jacobs is eager to be as well informed as possible about the merchandise they proudly bring to market. In time, with our client’s future investment and your hard work, you too can share in the joy of passing on to their treasured clientele a similar level of jewellery industry expertise. Sales training is provided in-house as well as by eager brand suppliers, and where appropriate, third party specialist consultants are brought in to ensure maximum operating efficiency for the benefit of all parties.
Once successfully engaged and confirmed in the role, JACOBS will support you in achieving external industry-recognised qualifications through a series of courses run by the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF JEWELLERS. After many months of self-directed study, this will culminate in the achievement of JET 1 and JET 2 qualifications, making you a recognised Professional Jeweller.
From there, your career and contribution will continue to develop; perhaps you will specialise in a particular area of stock and attain greater accountability for your section. Sales-wise, you will enjoy ever higher levels of success, based upon your proven and accredited market expertise.
Consistency, reliability and proactivity are attributes for which you have already won admiration from your colleagues. Now is the time to realize your full potential by specialising in a retail sector that it is a privilege to be part of, in a store where you can become the very best retail sales professional possible!
Don’t let this opportunity pass you by! Please forward your CV without delay to the team at JML. Interviews will be held locally – and soon.
