Assistant Designer - Womenswear

We have a fabulous opportunity for a commercial Assistant Designer to join an established, successful, and trend-driven supplier to the UK high street. They are seeking an enthusiastic, driven individual with a young to mid-market handwriting style who is used to working in a fast-paced environment and can work under pressure.

This role will be working with a lovely team of established designers and offers great career progression.

Main Responsibilities Will Include:

• Research fashion trends, producing trend boards, catwalks, and sketches.
• Design seasonal capsule collections along with key shapes, colour palettes, and fabric direction.
• Source & order fabric from mills in China and follow up to ensure they arrive in a timely manner.
• Research and source new design ideas & fabrics/trims day to day.
• Design and develop commercial and fashion-forward products for range and clients.
• Attend regular design meetings with the Sales Manager and customers when required.
• Manage Sampling and Development of Critical Path.
• Weekly reports looking at the latest trends.

Personal Requirements:

• Fashion graduate or previous experience in a similar role.
• Strong organisational skills and able to work under pressure.
• Commercially savvy with excellent on-trend knowledge.
• Fully computer literate in Photoshop and Illustrator
• A keen eye for detail.
• Must be a team player with a willingness to take direction and eager to learn.
