Flagship Accessories Assistant Buyer
We are looking for an Assistant Buyer to join our Flagship Accessories team. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with our Flagship Accessories partners, reporting directly into the Buying Manager with increased responsibilities in order writing and open-to-buy planning.
As Assistant Buyer, you will:
· Negotiate the best possible terms with suppliers
· Forge strong partnerships with our brand partners
· Be a go-to person for the department
· Work with the Buying Manager to ensure that buying decisions are based on a sound commercial framework to drive sales and profit
· Work with the Merchandiser and Buying Manager to strategise for the season ahead and plan the OTB
· Monitor and review trade in season, speaking to brands regularly on performance and driving sales or risk mitigation through stock actions
· Manage the Buyer’s Administrative Assistant
· Manage the end of season and recode process
· Work closely with Marketing and PR with awareness of promotional opportunities during negotiations with suppliers
· Ensure effective communication with retail operations teams including new season launches and product training
· Review trade on a weekly basis, delivering an update in a team trade meeting
A bit about you
· Assistant Buyer experience required either in accessories or RTW
· Highly knowledgeable. You will have a well-developed understanding of the product/market
· Strategic and operational. With strong analytical skills and experience driving long-term and profitable commercial strategies, you’ll be able to successfully manage projects through to completion.
· Engaging. Able to influence your stakeholders, retail and brands, you know how to use both data and market trends to drive commercial opportunities
· Customer focused. Combined with exceptional taste and instinct, you are able to push the boundaries to offer new and exciting product
· All over the numbers. You are numerate with a highly commercial approach, as well as proficient in excel
· Collaborative. Working flexibly as part of the wider Buying team you will support in projects and cross functional meetings as appropriate
