Freelance Womenswear Woven Designer

We are seeking an experienced Freelance Senior Womenswear Wovens Designer to support a leading supplier on a short-term contract. This is a hands-on role focused on delivering trend-led, commercially relevant collections for major UK retailers.
The position is offered on a full-time freelance basis for approximately 2-3 months, with flexibility to work remotely or from a London-based office.

Main Responsibilities Will Include:

• Designing womenswear woven products, with a focus on tops including blouses, camis, and related categories.
• Developing trend-led collections for Spring/Summer 2027, aligned with key customer requirements.
• Delivering approximately one collection per month
• Creating detailed design and technical packs, including fabric and trim selection, and clear technical drawings for sampling teams.
• Collaborating closely with sampling teams to ensure accurate execution of designs.
• Producing mood boards, fabric boards, and presentation materials for client meetings.
• Supporting client presentations, with occasional attendance at UK-based meetings (approximately 1-2 per month if required).

Person Specification:

• Strong experience as a Senior Womenswear Designer, with a focus on woven product categories.
• Proven ability to design for high-street or volume retailers, with a strong commercial awareness.
• Experience delivering multiple collections within tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent technical knowledge, including the creation of detailed tech packs and understanding of garment construction.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and other relevant design tools.
• Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work independently in a freelance capacity.
