Fabric Technical Manager

Reporting to the Head of Sourcing the Fabric Technical Manager will be supporting a business with several distinctive brands. The successful applicant will be responsible for sourcing innovative and cost effect fabrics which would be delivered in time to the correct critical path monitoring and improving pre-production fabric, liaising with clients and technical team on fabric performance and testing ,maintaining effective communication on all technical aspects of the fabric specification required

Working closely with clients and overseas factories on all fabric manufacturing from concept through to final production. Working closely with Design ,and fabric buying teams.

*This position will include extensive business travel to suppliers, customers and all sites within the group as required.*

In addition the head of fabric will be responsible for the creation and delivery of new fabrics, in conjunction with the design, production and technical team; Initiate research of new Technical Fabrics in conjunction with Design and Customer direction while presenting various technologies and options and will collaborate with Global regions too present fabric and trims while achieving  targets and minimums 

Key Responsibilities

Manage Fabric technical team.

Responsible for the creation and delivery of new products, in conjunction with the design, production and technical team

Attend initial customer meetings to understand technical requirements

Assist with presentations to customers.

Keep up to date with the latest technology

Attend fabric shows to source new fabric developments and keep up to date with Innovation.

Manage Tender requirements for fabric sourcing routes, instruct sample lengths in a timely manner for Tender submission

Involved in the set up critical paths for new developments,

Organise Testing of fabrics and garments via external accredited test house.

Represent the company at Customer review meetings when required O

On Site problem solving for fabric development with factories

Develop with environmental and ethically compliant factories

Set quality and performance standards and quality control procedures within factory’s

Maintain our new Product Data Management system for creating specifications and product lifecycle controls.

Oversee the approvals of bulk fabric continuities to master standards.

* Please note we can only consider candidates who have the RTW in the UK and already based here and able to commute to East Midlands
