Junior Designer

Opportunity to join a successful supplier of ladieswear, menswear and childrenswear multiproduct categories who supply to many major iconic retailers.

This is a role for a Junior Designer based fulltime in the London office, reporting to the Senior Designer in Hong Kong office and work alongside the Design team in London office, working on ladieswear and girlswear ranges.

Must be eligible to work in the UK.

Junior Designer – The Role

  • To work alongside Design team, reporting to the Senior Designer in Hong Kong office, creating commercial new private label ranges each season, within the given deadlines, that appeal to the customer.
  • To design and develop ladieswear and girlswear across multiproduct.
  • To create full repeat prints, graphics, trims and 1:1 scale artwork for factory sampling, in the correct format required.
  • Develop seasonal mood boards, identifying trends and fashion colours specific to the customer profile, to compile seasonal trend reports which are presented to buyers, identifying innovation through the research of on-going and future trends, tailored for specific customers.
  • Regular seasonal competitor shopping trips, and inspirational trips, to keep finger on the pulse of the competition in the market place.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, and assisting the Senior Designer ensuring designs align with business objectives, customer needs, and commercial viability. Present back to the design team any ideas and inspiration for future ranges.

Junior Designer – The Candidate

  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or a related field with a minimum of 2 years industry experience
  • Computer literate, including Microsoft Office, and experienced in Adobe Illustrator with a good understanding of the Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Excellent communicator with attention to detail, and confident presentation skills.
  • Proactive, self-motivated individual with the ability to work independently but also as part of a team, with willingness to take direction, and eager to learn.
  • Ability to liaise with buyers and factories.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Must be eligible to work in UK.
