Payroll Manager (4 days per week)

We’re on a mission to be the nation’s most-loved neighbourhood restaurant. Think sunshine-filled food, great energy, teams that genuinely have each other’s backs, and usually a dog snoozing under someone’s table.

As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a stand-alone Payroll Manager to make sure the amazing people across our restaurants are paid accurately, compliantly and on time, every single pay run.

You’ll own the smooth running of payroll across our UK sites using Fourth Payroll, oversee TRONC administration, and work closely with our People, Finance and Operations teams to keep everything ticking along nicely.

In short: you’re organised, detail-focused, and the kind of person who sleeps well at night knowing the numbers are spot on.

What you’ll be doing

Running payroll

Managing the end-to-end payroll process using Fourth Payroll

Making sure salaries, hourly pay, bonuses and deductions are processed accurately

Liaising with Troncmaster to administer tronc through payroll

Managing payroll deadlines, approvals and payment runs

Supporting the numbers

Preparing payroll journals and supporting payroll reconciliations

Investigating and resolving payroll queries

Working with our Finance team to support month-end processes

️ Keeping things compliant

Making sure payroll follows UK payroll legislation (PAYE, NIC, pensions and statutory payments)

Supporting HMRC submissions and year-end payroll processes

Maintaining accurate payroll records and documentation

What we’re looking for

You will have

Experience running or supporting payroll operations

Experience with Fourth Payroll (or a similar payroll system)

A good understanding of UK payroll legislation

Strong attention to detail and great organisation skills

Confidence handling payroll queries and working with numbers

✨ Bonus points if you also have

Experience in hospitality, retail or multi-site businesses

Knowledge of TRONC or service charge administration

A payroll qualification (CIPP or similar)
