As Print Designer you be designing all-over prints and the occasional placement print for women's softs, jersey and nightwear working from the initial brief to final artwork including repeats. 

The successful individual with be UK-based commutable to London with around 5 years of fast fashion print design experience. A versatile fashion print design handwriting and a commercial portfolio are both essential showcasing the key print categories and seasonal print trends including ditsies, geometrics, abstracts, conversationals, florals, painterly, aztech and animal prints, etc. 

Main Responsibilities

  • Trend research following trend predictions, social media, catwalk and vintage fashion influences.
  • Comparative shopping.
  • Work closely with the womenswear designers and retail buyers to interpret each brief collaborating on ideas and direction with the Senior Print Designer.
  • Working with the Senior Print Designer on the design and artworking of all-over prints, placements and graphics using Adobe Photoshop and/or Illustrator.
  • Hand-painting original designs as required.
  • Execution of repeats, half drops and colourways.
  • Re-colouring prints.
  • Follow through to strike-off/final artwork approval.

Essential Skills

  • Degree in Fashion Textiles Design specialising in Womenswear.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience designing commercial all-over prints.
  • Experience designing for supermarket or fast fashion retailers.
  • Highly proficient in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • Excellent trend awareness with the ability to translate ideas inspired by the latest influences.
  • Slightly feminine print design handwriting.
  • A confident proactive individual experienced working to critical path deadlines.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • A confident, proactive team player.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise workload.
  • Excellent interaction with suppliers and colleagues at all levels.
  • UK- based a commutable distance to Camden tube.

Salary, Hours & Benefits 

  • Annual salary: £35-40k
  • Monday to Thursday 9:00 to 5:30, Friday 9:00 to 4:30.
  • Hybrid working Tuesday to Thursday in the office.
