The Role

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Product Development Assistant / Junior Garment Technologist to support our Product Development and Technical teams. You will play a key role in ensuring products meet Schöffel Country’s standards for fit, quality and performance from prototype through to production.

This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate or early-career Garment Technologist seeking hands-on experience across the full product lifecycle within a premium country clothing brand.

Key Responsibilities

Product Development & Technical

  • Support day-to-day product development and technical processes across categories
  • Prepare for and assist with fit sessions, accurately measuring garments and recording feedback
  • Maintain fit consistency in line with graded specifications and range standards
  • Write clear, commercially realistic technical and fit comments for suppliers
  • Assist with Tech Pack creation and updates where required
  • Review samples from prototype through to production stages against agreed standards

Quality & Production

  • Support quality control throughout development and production
  • Assist with approval processes for bulk fabrics, pre-production and shipment samples
  • Help review lab test reports, certifications and product approvals
  • Support wearer trials, post-production checks and feedback reviews

Sample & Critical Path Management

  • Manage and prioritise sample flow in line with the critical path
  • Organise deliveries, sample requests and dispatch
  • Maintain accurate product records and update PLM systems
  • Manage seasonal samples, fabrics, specifications and product archives

Team Support

  • Provide administrative and technical support to the Product Development team
  • Maintain accurate documentation, logs and development records
  • Support effective communication with suppliers and internal teams

Skills & Experience

  • Degree in Garment Technology, Fashion, Product Development or similar — or 1+ year relevant industry experience
  • Understanding of garment construction, fit, pattern and basic grading
  • Knowledge of fabrics and materials
  • Ability to measure garments accurately and identify fit or construction issues
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Clear communication and ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Effective time management and ability to work to deadlines

Systems & Tools

  • Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
  • PLM system experience beneficial but not essential
  • Adobe Illustrator advantageous but not required
