Our client is a family run wholesaler specialising in fabrics for the upholstery industry. The company distributes products to manufacturers, retailers, designers and the contract industry in the UK and around the world. They are now seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to help with the growth of their business.
Business Development Manager - The Role:
- An integral member of the sales team who will report to the Sales Director and assist in setting and delivering the sales and marketing strategy.
- Responsibility and accountability for KPI performance with the principal focus on profitability and sales performance of existing customers and new business development opportunities both in the UK and overseas.
- Liaise with suppliers and the internal team, as required, in support of customer requirement and satisfaction.
- Work with the Technical / Design team to ensure appropriate product offer for current and future customers.
- Manage budgetary process and control, and support the finance team in managing customer debt.
- Happy to travel as required.
Business Development Manager - The Candidate:
- You should have a minimum of 3 years successful sales management experience with a background in either upholstery, drapery, curtains or related textiles.
- A proven track record of implementing and delivering business development and sales growth.
- Export Sales experience is desirable but not essential.
- Ability to build excellent relationships both internally and externally.
- Results focused individual, self-motivated and hungry for success.
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritise, delegate and manage effectively.
- IT literate.
