TEMP - Garment Technologist

A well-known high street retailer is looking to appoint a Garment Technologist on a temporary contract of around 2 months to support an urgent compliance project linked to USA shipments. This role will focus on ensuring all relevant product testing and certification is correctly updated ahead of the 8 July compliance deadline. It is a hands-on role suited to a garment technologist with strong testing, compliance and systems experience, who is confident working at pace and managing a high volume of product data with accuracy.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Using the SGS testing platform to create top sheets by product
• Uploading and linking all available test reports to the correct product numbers
• Reviewing existing testing documentation to ensure all records are accurate and complete
• Identifying any missing testing or gaps in certification for products due to be sold on the USA website
• Liaising with SGS Turkey to action outstanding testing requirements and ensure deadlines are met
• Tracking progress across multiple product areas to ensure all compliance work is completed ahead of 8 July
• Working closely with internal teams to confirm which products will be available for sale on the USA website from 8 July
• Supporting the wider technical and compliance function with any related administration and follow-up actions

Person specification:

• Previous experience within garment technology, product compliance or a similar technical role
• Strong understanding of product testing, certification and compliance processes
• Experience using the SGS testing platform would be a huge benefit
• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage a high volume of information accurately
• Confident communicating with external testing partners and internal teams in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment
